Radiographic Inspection is the backbone of Vital Inspection Professionals’ NDT program.

RT inspections are designed to find internal flaws and defects in many different materials like aluminum, bronze, copper, steel and steel composites.  Items such as welds, forgings, castings and structural steel can be radiographed to find most types of internal discontinuities.

Vital Inspection Professionals has an in-house shooting room, which is built of 2 feet thick reinforced concrete walls.  We use this facility to perform radiography on items of varying size, from small procedure qualification plates to very large castings.  We have numerous developing facilities which include: permanent darkrooms at our home office and each of our 2 satellite offices, portable darkroom trailers for everyday field jobs, and several mobile office trailers equipped with automated film processors for large field jobs.  We pride ourselves with being “The Very Best” in the business, in the field of industrial radiography.

Film

We use only vacupac film, which totally eliminates cassette / lead induced film artifacts.

Code Compliance

Density – We ensure that our radiographs are in compliance with the applicable density requirements through the use of calibrated densitometers.

Image Quality Indicators – We ensure that the proper penetrameters are used and that the required sensitivity is achieved on every shot.

Film Interpretation – This is one of the most important factors of performing RT work.  Our technicians are trained extensively on film interpretation according to governing codes and specifications.

Vital Inspection Professionals has two nationally certified ASNT NDT Level III’s in the RT method.  Our Level III’s maintain our RT procedures and instruct Level I and II RT courses.  Training programs such as “Film Interpretation” and RT Safety courses are also offered.
